Top 40). It also reached number one in Czech Republic (Singles Digitál

The
lyrics discuss the pressure of adulthood
and nostalgia for childhood (Used to dream of outer space but now they're

Even though every child wants to be older or treated as grown up, the end of
adolescence and the transition to adulthood can be very harsh. It is not what we
expected. I remember when my first paiment came and I was told that now I'm on
my own. I felt so scared of what future will bring and alone and abandoned. But
I was wrong, they are still there for me, and yes, it's different. But most of
the time is even good different and sometimes bad different. Song speaks from
the point of view of Blurryface and that is the album's title character. And
the sentence My name's Blurryface and I
care what you think can be really powerful, because they speak to us, and
they give us the filling that thay care and we are not alone.
Musically, Stressed Out is written in the key of A minor, following a chord progression of F – Dm – Am – Am. Genre of this song is rap rock and that was a pain in the ass to me, because I was so torn how to make this arrangement. If you have not noteced, rap is in every verse. So I have decided that I should use only basic beat with cross notes, but in the third and fourth verse, when we can hear a little voice movements I used full notes with full rhythm.
